This is an action packed suspense, a real page turner that I just didn’t want to put down until I’d finished it. You are immersed into the action from the very first page, with car chases, treks through the wilderness, lethal gunmen and so much more.

At the heart of the story is Dane MacLain, an ex-detective whose wife and daughter were kidnapped to get him to stop his investigations. Although he has his daughter back, his wife was murdered and his daughter now won’t talk. He’s still determined to discover who is behind his wife’s death to prevent any further danger to his family in future so when he discovers and rescues Marnie Somerville near his cabin he’s suitably intrigued. When he learns she’s also running from Whitman Enterprises, the company he suspects was behind his wife’s death, and she was previously employed there the two are now in danger. As they decide to work together to reveal the cover up they’ll face more danger from the villains and those who are secretly in the pay of them. All the time, they also need to keep his daughter, Elizabeth, and his sister who is looking after her, safe.

The story is well written, with so many twists and turns as the two endeavour to bring the villains to justice and protect themselves and his family from future harm. It is a real page-turner and right to the end you aren’t quite sure how things will finally be resolved. Marnie is a brilliant heroine – feisty, determined and with a past that means she is well used to working alone, to acting somewhat spontaneously and not used to being part of a team. Contrarily, Dane is very much a team player, used to working with others, a planner and very protective of those he cares for. Their mutual attraction, very different past and common goals make them a great pair and this story one that makes an enthralling read that I have no hesitation in highly recommending to anyone who enjoys thrilling romantic suspense. I understand this is the first in a three book series and can’t wait to read the sequels!

OMG – I don’t think that I have been hooked by a book as quickly as I was with this one. I couldn’t read it fast enough there were so many unexpected twists I just wanted more and more. I love books that keep me guessing until the very end and that’s definitely what happened with this one.
The story is about Marnie Somerville who works for Whitman Enterprises as a tracker. Her job involves finding owners of delinquent accounts and tracking them. She is tasked with finding Dane MacLain, after months of tracking him down and following his every move Marnie soon realises that something about Dane MacLain just doesn’t add up – he’s one of the good guys! When Marnie hacks into her boss’s computer she finds secret files and cover-ups that she was not expecting. Now she finds herself fleeing her former employer and straight into the arms of Dane.
Former Detective Dane MacLain has spent the last 12 months gathering Intel against Whitman Enterprises – he needs to prove they were responsible for his wife’s death. Then a beautiful and very intense woman shows up with some very interesting information. Dane is more than willing to accept everything that Marnie has to offer – and he means everything!
Sparks fly everywhere from this couple. It’s definitely lust at first sight with them. Marnie is a great character – strong, independent and feisty. She also has a past with some very dark secrets. Dane is just hot! He is so protective of Marnie and I’m pretty sure anyone would want to be rescued by him! There were also some pretty mysterious background characters – It would be great to read about their stories too. What I liked about this story was that there was a strong heroine and she was just as capable at defending herself as Dane was. They worked well as a team!
I loved this story; it was full of action, suspense and with a bit of romance thrown in.
It can only be 5 stars for Betrayed by a Kiss.

Loved this story. I always enjoy reading about a women who fights for what she believes in. It was a wonderful love story about Dane and Marnie. Also enjoyed the action and suspense so much it was hard to put the book down.
I was never a fan of romance novels, but this one may have made me a convert. The story is gripping from the very start, and doesn't let go until the last page. I highly recommend it.

From the beginning, when he thought he was saving her, and she was saving him, until the wonderful end, I was hooked. I'm not much of a geek, but I was able to understand the cyber geek aspects without a problem. (A big plus for a non-technie like me, lol). The plot was fantastic, it kept me reading and glued to my seat. I enjoyed their interactions and the growing attraction.

I highly recommend this gem!
