Make-Believe wedding is a fast paced, easy to fall into novella about a couple of friends who are suddenly so much more. Andie has always been fixated on Heath though, to the point where no one else will do. She doesn't act on this though, until she has to! I really like Andie's independent, strong willed character. Heath is a hottie! I admired him for first wanting to help Andie, then not being afraid to move things forward. I liked his honesty, especially with Andie's brother Beau.

There are a lot of great secondary characters in Make-Believe Wedding, many you will recognize if you've read the other Montana Born Brides books. In particular I really liked Andie's brother Beau and her friend Lily. The interactions they have are realistic, warm, and filled with humor. I especially like Andie's relationship with her brother. Beau and Lily came across to me as having something simmering beneath the surface, and I'd love to know what their story is.

Make-Believe Wedding is the perfect length novella for the story being told that can be read alone, but I do highly recommend reading the other Montana Born Bride books too!

Sarah writes smoothly with lots of wit and emotion that entertains and makes you feel for the characters. I'd recommend Make-Believe Wedding to any romance reader looking for a quick, entertaining romantic read.

I have read several of Sarah Mayberry's books, and love them. They are light-hearted, fun and well characterized. Heath and Andie have been friends since forever (since they were 13), but she's been secretly in love with him for a long time. Her drunken entry to a wedding contest gets her and Heath in an "interesting" situation, having to pretend to be lovers, and he find out two things (1) that she's NOT just his best friend's younger sister, she's a desirable woman, and (2) HE wants her, even though his "type" is not anything like her. It winds up as a very cute happily ever after, and I really enjoyed it.

The ONLY downside is, Sarah's is from Australia, so her use of British terms in a story set in Montana is sort of distracting. Her proofreader or editor should have caught those.
I found this one while browsing the free books list on and it sounded like a cute read. It definitely lived up to my expectations and left me with a happy feeling upon finishing.
I really liked Andie’s character and I could sympathize with her for pining over her older brother’s best friend. I can imagine the torture she must have gone through over the years of watching him date other women and not viewing her as anything more than his best friend’s little sister. It was also nice seeing a strong female character who worked in a male dominated industry and who held the respect of her male colleagues.
Despite being so clueless to Andie’s crush on him I adored Heath. I had to give him mad props for not freaking out over the situation Andie got them in and for respecting her feelings about appearances with her co-workers instead of immediately freaking out over the mention of a wedding. I thought it was sweet that he was willing to go through with the charade especially after his ex verbally attacks Andie. Watching his eyes open to the wonderful woman Andie is was heart touching and I loved seeing their relationship flourish.
If you are a looking for a low angst read that will leave you with all the happy feelings definitely check this one out!
It's the perfect little romantic story of a girl who has loved that 1 guy who hasn't ever looked at her as a woman. He has looked at her as a friend, employee, little sister, and good sport because after all she was the younger sister of his best friend that had always been a tag a long. Then to tell the truth, he has never let himself even look at her body as in a woman's body and how it could stimulate his masculine one. Angie was drunk and decided to answer questions on a giveaway contest paper form for a wedding for real to make up for her disappointment at the Valentine's Dance that Heath, didn't see her new haircut, New dress, heels, and realize she was a woman with desires who could fulfill his. To wrap it up, her entry was entered accidentally and made the semi finals and when the Lady came to inform them at their work site, Heath let the engagement stand so Andie and he would not have to endure the laughter and weeks of joking from the men that worked with them in their crew! Finally, just from this point and beyond there is hot sex, out door hot sex and no just because of that doesn't mean he gets it! Read and find out if Heath finally figured out Andie has loved him for years and can be love her back? Do they win the wedding giveaway? Give this a read and I think you will be glad you did!
Everything in this book happened way too quickly. The main characters had no depth, there was no real build to the relationship and side stories seemed to start and then go nowhere. There were people mentioned at the end that I couldn't remember who they were supposed to be or why I should care about them. Cute premise that bombed for me. I'm fine with predictable as long as you give me a good story along the way and this did not.
